A situation recently came up in my work with a client after the death of his father. His father and stepmother had entered into a prenuptial agreement at the start of their marriage. That agreement detailed which property the wife/stepmother was to receive upon the husband/father's death and which property would be passed down to the children. Everyone acknowledged the prenuptial agreement existed, but no one could locate a copy, much less the original.

Some lessons have to be learned the hard way! But I hope sharing this little tip will prevent others from having to go through the stress and hand-wringing that my client endured!
